The Halloween costume Jake Gyllenhaal wore in Donnie Darko is by far my favorite film inspired costume. It’s simple, easy to assemble and only people with fantastic taste in movies will recognize it. The only elements you really need is the skeleton onesie and a grey hoodie. If you want to get really detailed, grab a pair of black with white Adidas; it’s not shown in the screenshot above but those are the shoes he wears with the costume, trust me.

If you’re looking at this entry and wondering what the hell Donnie Darko is, all you really need to know is that it is a brilliant film that you should to watch. It is a little bit confusing but that is what YouTube is good for.
